The United States Marines will hold their 42nd Annual Toys
For Tots motorcycle run Sunday through Chicago. Attendees
are encouraged to donate a toy in original wrapping at the
start of the run (Dan Ryan Woods, 83rd and Western). Toys
also may be donated at the Marines' staging center at 3034
W. Foster Avenue (Foster and Kedzie), or at Bally's Fitness
locations or Eagle Foods throughout Chicagoland.

Cows on Parade--The Cows on Parade will end on October
31, 1999. The cows will be auctioned off on November 9, 1999
at the Chicago Theater starting at noon. Bidding will begin
at 6:30 p.m. The money accumulated from the auction will go
towards charity. For more information about the cows on parade

Bob talked with Dale Shipley, the Regional Director of Federal
Emergency Management Agency, about continuing Y2K questions
and problems. Shipley stated that the public should stock
up on three days worth of food and water, as well as, stocking
up well before the Y2K deadline of Dec. 31, 1999. Shipley
recommended a web address and a toll-free phone number for
more helpful information about Y2K. The Y2K website is www.y2k.gov
this site contains information on the Y2K computer problem
including the Federal government's efforts to prepare its
computer systems, links to information on Y2K compliance for
critical sectors of the economy, and other Y2K resources.

discussed identity theft. Byrune explained consumers
should cautiously use more than one credit card, consumers
