performances of Jack Chapman and his orchestra were first carried
by WGN Radio's forerunner, WDAP, from the Drake Hotel.
His first
program of dance music increased station mail from 200 to 800
letters per day.
The Jack
Chapman Orchestra would be a regular fixture in the early years
of WGN, including performances as part of the station's special
10th anniversary broadcast.
