Career Highlights:

  • Announcer A. W. (Sen) Kaney was at the microphone for the broadcast of the 1924 Memorial Day 500 automobile race from the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The seven-hour broadcast was the first time the race, now known as the Indianapolis 500, was carried on-the-air.
  • He also broadcast the first baseball game carried by WGN and was a staff announcer.
